Welcome to the NinjaVideo.net forum. We want you to be happy here. Honestly, we really do. But we also want everyone else here to be happy. Hence The Rules. It is recommended that you listen and adhere to whatever The Rules has to say, as he is the ultimate God around here. The Rules even tells the Admins how to do things (See 1.3). These are the forum-wide, one-size-fits-all rules that apply everywhere. Subforums may narrow these rules down and make them more appropriate for each subforum, but these are the overriding rules. If you read them and the 'RULES'/'GUIDE'/'CLICK HERE FIRST' stickies in each subforum, we will be happy. We will be very happy. In fact, we may even be so happy that we choose to legally adopt you. Above all, contribute to the forum, as that's what we're here for. Cheers.

General Board-wide

      #1.1 The word of the admins and moderators ('staff') is final. Talking back to a member of staff, and showing no sense of respect, will lead to a warning.

      #1.2 Do not 'mini-mod'. This includes - but is not limited to - telling the staff how to do their job. We'd like to encourage and thank members to use the report button to alert staff of infractions of one or more of the forum rules.

      #1.3 The NinjaVideo staff reserve the right to ignore any or all of the forum rules. See below

Warning System

      #2.1 Members who disobey the rules will be warned or banned depending on what the moderator believes is the appropriate punishment.

      #2.2 Members can be warned a maximum of three times. On the third the member will be immediately banned. This does not mean that you have to have a warning to get banned, moderators may ban you without warnings depending on the offense.

      #2.3 [Removed]

      #2.4 Warnings will either be temporary or permanent. Temporary bans are used in the first instances; permanent bans (permabans) will more likely be used in the later stages, though there are exceptions to this rule.

      #2.5 Appeals against warnings will not be accepted. See 1.1

Posting Etiquette

      #3.1 All members must be treated with the utmost respect. Posts that contain - but not limited to - derogatory, racist, homophobic or sexual remarks will be removed by the staff, and the user will receive a warning. Serious offences may lead to an immediate ban. We do not want trolls or flamers on our board.

      #3.2 It is vitally important that you use the search function before posting a new topic.
              Duplicate or very similar topics will likely be closed or deleted without warning.

      #3.3 Topics must be submitted to the relevant forums. Please read the forum descriptions before posting.
              Links may only be posted in the link subforums, which - except for Anime & Foreign TV/Movies - are only available to private-board members. See 8.1

      #3.4 Topic titles must be descriptive of the content within.

      #3.4 All topics must contain a full description. See the stickied topics in each section to see examples of such content.     

      #3.5 Bumping is allowed provided that the reply has relevant information that is useful to the continuance of the topic. Short intervals of bumps by a person (or group of persons) with the sole intention of bumping a topic onto the first page is not allowed.

      #3.6 Double (or higher) posting of the same post several times in either one thread or multiple threads is not allowed.

      #3.7 Consider using the 'edit' button instead of making a new post if you were the last person to make a post in a thread, unless a sufficient amount of time has passed since the preceding post.

      #3.8 Posts must not contain graphically obscene or offensive images or text. If you are unsure as to whether your post constitutes this, please PM a moderator before you post. It is not a case of 'post now, ask questions later'. This will result in a warning, if not a ban.

      #3.9 Post count milestones may be posted in increments of 1000 up to 5000 and then at 10K - 15K - 20K and so on.
     
      #3.10 All possible spoilers must be contained within the following bbcode:

      #3.11 Do not post in ALL-CAPS. We will redirect you to an anger management class.

      #3.12 Do not overuse colours in your writing. Only use them when essential. Coloured text hurts our eyes, and for safety reasons, we may delete your post.

      #4.1 Spam is only permited in the dedicated spam threads. We've given you enough of them - please use them.

      #4.2 You may not post links to sites that are similar to ninjavideo.net; either in posts or in any part of your user profile.

      #4.3 Excessive posting of similar messages to increase post count is not allowed. Exceptions are allowed at the discretion of staff.

      #5.1 Links many only be posted in the Link Subforums.
              Links may only be posted in the link subforums, which - except for Anime & Foreign TV/Movies - are only available to private-board members. Not private board? See 8.1

      #5.2 Do not post duplicate links. Use the Search Function first.

      #5.3 Links to rapidshare/megaupload/torrents etc must be placed within code tags

      #5.4 If you are a public board member, you may not post requests anywhere in the forum. This is a privilege made available only to Private Board members.
              Requests may only be posted in the Request section which is only available to Private Board members. Not a private board member? See 8.1


      #5.5 Do not PM other members - staff included - with the goal of making a request. If a user does this, please report this to the staff immediately.

      #5.6 Do not post referral links.  You may not post a link to ANY website in such a manner that it generates money, incentive points, prize opportunities or gameplay advantage to you personally.

Usernames, Titles, Avatars and Signatures

     #7.1 Usernames
              7.1.1 All general rules apply to usernames
              7.1.2 Usernames may not exceed 13 characters
              7.1.3 No email address or website may be referenced explicitly or implicitly
              7.1.4 No special characters may be used in usernames. The definition of 'special characters' is at the discretion of staff.
              7.1.5 Capital letters and numbers should be used sparingly
              7.1.4 To have your username changed please PM a Moderator rather than an Admin.
              7.1.5 Usernames cannot be changed frequenty. The definition of 'frequently' is at the discretion of staff.

     #7.2 Titles
              7.2.1 All general rules apply to titles
              7.2.2 A personal title may be offered to certain usergroups.
              7.2.3 Do not ask for your title to be changed. This will be done when a member of staff feels it is appropriate.

     #7.3 Avatars
              7.3.1 All general rules apply to avatars
              7.3.2 The maximum avatar size is 150x150px. Do not ask for a larger size.
              7.3.3 Avatars deemed unfit will be removed without warning and may be replaced with the following:



     #7.4 Signatures
              7.4.1 All general rules apply to signatures
              7.4.2 The maximum signature size is 700x300px (700px wide, 300px high) and 1mb inclusive of all images and text. (Discuss)
              7.4.3 Content hidden by spoiler tags is to be included within the 1mb limit.
              7.4.4 Spoiler tags are to be included in the dimension limit in their collapsed form.
              7.4.5 Signatures deemed unfit will be removed without warning and may be replaced with the following:

Explicit Guidelines

      #8.1 Asking any staff member if you can be a part of the staff will hinder your chance of ever becoming one. The same applies for the Private Board or individual usergroups. These are decided by the staff when the user is deemed to have made an appropriate, significant contribution.

      #8.2 Please do not ask for your post to be stickied. This is done at the discretion of the staff.

      #8.3 All forum rules apply to every image posted in messages, signatures, avatars and PM’s. Images must not contain URL's of websites, words that bypass our word censor or any type of serial number.

      #8.4 Removal of moderated messages without permission is not allowed.

      #8.5 All text must be in English. Other languages may be permitted at the discretion of the staff.

      #8.6 Proxies are prohibited, and may not be used without a very good reason. Every new account is checked to see if it was created via proxy and those that are, are banned.

      #8.7 An individual may have one account and one account only.

      #8.8 Do not attempt to compromise the security of this site.

      #8.9 Follow the rules specific to each section by reading the individual subforum stickies, located at the top of every subforum.


      #8.10 You must have at least 20 posts to create/post to a topic in Culture/Debate. If you do not comply, you will get one warning, and then you will be banned.
