Feedback on the FAQ

I 'd love the first question in this section to be What is the MainSite?
I still think a lot of confusion comes from newbies not understanding the term.  I know of some who initially thought the forum homepage was the MainSite.  A simple answer like "The section of NinjaVideo where all the video links are displayed." might help clarify things.

Post #6:  I'm hoping the "Watch Stage6 on your TV" graphic will be replaced with something more timely? :)

Post #18:  I'm confused.  We don't want users to report dead links?

Post #19: Typo - "It may be difficukt to see on"

More to come...

Solid work on the new FAQ. Comprehensive, informative and, best of all, pretty :D

Good job!

There are a couple other spelling mistakes, but I have a feeling Bushido is hunting them down as we speak, so I'll ignore them...

We do want people to report dead links on the mainsite.

We don't want them to report dead links on the forum.

If you notice typos/misspellings on docs like this, please report them. I don't want to be the only pair of eyes working on it, I'll miss things too (plus it help to spread the resentment around to more than one person ;))!

We don't want them to report dead links on the forum.
I would want them to... I usually update my postings with new incoming links and when they go down, I would like to know that so I can remove them...

so

please do report dead links in MY threads by either posting in that thread or pming me, thank you!

I can't help but wonder why all the hostility in the FAQ, forum, and on the main site. Posting things like "We don't care what you think" about being redirected to Lost Citizen just seems silly to me. You have a donate link that I think would get clicked a lot more if you were just the tiniest bit nicer when people ask questions or post issues. Take TPB's website. I posted an issue I had with their site, I wasn't mean about it, but I didn't hold back, I laid it out as I saw it. A mod got right back to me, the issue was corrected, and no insults flew. The happen to sell merchandise, and I bought some of it because they have a great service (as does Ninja), but they go way beyond the call by treating users with respect.

teikyo35, we are not as hostile as you make us out to be.  Really, people need to learn to read the pr0n and to learn to use the search function.  Also, the commentary on the mainsite is the discretion and opinions of the admins.  They have a right to say whatever they want.  Honestly, no one is forced to register on these forums to download or stream the videos on the mainsite.  In fact, even if the admins don't like a particular show, the admins are not censoring its viewing.  Also, if somebody posts an issue in the right thread, we will be happy to answer.  BTW, your user name intriques me because you sound like someone a friend of mine who just happened to IM me while I was typing this reply was posting crap about NV on the Abemore blog.  If that is the case, your credibility is about as good as an AIG executive.  If not, we will certainly take your comments into consideration regardless of how it is presented.  Also, like it is already been mentioned countless times, we are not charging for those vids.  Please take this as your first warning since really your comments are in the wrong thread  :/

I can't get the Ninja Video Applet to go online, what could be causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Warning Issued - Please post your question in the appropriate thread, there is an entire thread dedicated to help with the applet, and this thread (the one you posted in) has nothing at all to do with the applet.

Go here:
http://forum.ninjavideo.net/index.php/topic,28345

Also - Check this announcement concerning the applet:
http://forum.ninjavideo.net/index.php/topic,31501

Read up, follow ALL the steps outlined in the first post of that thread, and if you still have issues then I'm sure someone will help you if you post your question in the PROPER thread (first link). LinuxTrance
