Jason and Brombie put me on to the latest real player that just came out... quite honestly, their most brilliant update ever. what used to be a decent program years ago has just put itself back in the game. with the new rp, a dl message pops up on any streaming video. Megavideo, google, TUDOU! AND ALL ASIAN SITES, youtube.. etc.

it basically does what clipnabber does but it's a lot more user friendly.

Yeh i havent tried it yet.

Its nothign malicious or anything, its just the principal...such a big company installing extra programs with itself, and then not deleting them when uninstalled.

i want to download from mainsite - uni computers have loads of restrictions - can download but can't stream lol - t'is weird.

I am not a spammer just a random person offering help. I just found an easy way to download all the videos from any site that has streaming videos in FLV. Its a free program that all you do is turn on record and it will find the link for you after the video is played. Its called ... Moyea FLV Downloader. You can get it from

I use wmrecorder 11 (catches more streams than 12) and Tubehunter... together they seem to expose embedded files to eachother somehow and therefore you can catch some of the embedded stuff too...

Just to be clear, this guy is saying that Realplayer itself installs adware? I'm not too bothered, and you can turn it off according to good old wikipedia.

Real player has always been kind of a beast for me, I just use Real Player Alternative that I know is safe and doesn't impact the system too much...

Hulu has got this figured out

. When you try to do it, it only downloads a 15 second advertisment. Anyone know a way around this?

I am not sure what you mean? The Divx Player has a built in download function. Right click --> Save as (this only works if the video is complete).

this is gonna sound daft but if you delete the bit at the end that says .divx and just replace it with .avi, it should work fine, hope this helps

I'm on Vista, sadly, which doesn't let you do that, it seems. I can add .avi to the end of the title, but in the properties it still says .divx at the end.

And I can't get LameMP3 codec to work on virtualdub for some reason, either, so converting it doesn't work because sound is out of sync.

Actually, nevermind. On my computer it still says they're divx files, but the DVD player recognizes them as avi, which is what I saved them as. It won't recognize divx unless it's on a dvd.
